Seniors Go Bank-robbing!

Søren’s current work-in-progress feature film scoring is a drama-comedy score for a bittersweet story with a theme seen more than once in movies. A modern take on the classic Danish 1960es comedy ”Støvsuger-banden” (The Vacuum-cleaner Gang), ”Det grå Guld” (The Grey Gold) tells the tale of three pensioners on early retirement who feel somewhat left over with too little to do – so they decide to rob banks!
Scheduled premiere: Fall 2010.
From Zeitgeist Film and director Shaky Gonzalez (”Angel of the Night”)

”Min Søsters Børn i Nordjylland”

With primary shooting starting on 31 May 2010, Søren is now slated to score a rousing family adventure comedy from producer Michael Obel and director Martin Miehe-Renard. This movie updates a popular series of films (My Sister’s Kids) familiar to two generations of Danes and Scandinavians – about the uncle in the family who is a professor of child psychology but has no clue whatsoever how to handle children in real life!
Opening date: late 2010.

Hyldgaard Signs Worldwide Composer Deal

Søren Hyldgaard has signed a representation and publishing agreement with the international MusicSales Group. Represented by Edition Wilhelm Hansen, Music Sales’ Scandinavian branch, Søren’s work is expected to get a much wider distribution and recognition throughout the world. Apart from the film scoring aspect of Søren’s creations, WH and MS are currently preparing the publishing of a new Guitar Concerto in three movements and a symphonic suite with narration based on Søren’s first feature film score for ”Ørnens Øje” (Eye of the Eagle). The orchestral suite freshly carries on a much-neglected tradition of works like Prokofiev’s ”Peter and the Wolf” and Britten’s ”Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra”.
